Terms of Service
Effective date: October 12, 2026 · Version 2026-10-12
These Terms govern your use of Langle, a Korean-learning app and its related web pages (the "Service"), operated by Seung-hyun Lee (이승현) ("we", "us"). By creating an account and agreeing in the app, you accept these Terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Langle.
- You sign up with an email address and a password. Keep your password secret; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
- Give accurate information, including your birth year. One person, one account.
2. The Service
- Langle offers Korean lessons: daily routines, study cards and spaced review, speaking practice, Hangul lessons, short video clips, statistics and, on supported iPhones, practice conversations with an AI partner.
- Speaking practice uses your phone's built-in speech recognition and gives an automatic score based on the recognized text. Scores are learning aids, not an official assessment of your Korean.
- AI conversations run on your iPhone using Apple's on-device model. The AI partner's replies are generated automatically and may be wrong, unnatural or inappropriate. Do not rely on them as fact or advice, and do not enter personal information in conversations. Availability depends on your device and its settings; the feature is not available on every phone.
- Some lessons may play short clips from public YouTube videos through YouTube's embedded player; those videos belong to their owners and are subject to YouTube's terms.
- Free accounts have daily limits (for example on routines, speaking checks and conversations), shown in the app. Langle is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, prices and conditions will be shown in the app before you buy, purchases will be handled by the App Store or Google Play under their terms, and refunds follow the store's policy and applicable law.
- We may change, add or remove features to improve the Service. If a change significantly reduces what you can do, we will tell you in advance in the app where reasonably possible.
- We may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, outages or reasons beyond our control.
3. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- harass others, or enter hateful, sexual, violent or otherwise harmful content, including in conversations, feedback or reports;
- try to access other users' data, our servers or code without permission, or interfere with the Service (for example by scraping, overloading, reverse engineering beyond what the law allows, or getting around limits);
- create accounts automatically or use someone else's account;
- copy, sell or redistribute Langle's lessons, audio, translations or other content outside the app.
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
4. Content and intellectual property
- Langle's lessons, text, translations, audio, design, software and the Langle name belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use them in the app for your own learning.
- You keep ownership of what you write (for example sentences you build, conversation turns and feedback). You give us a licence to store and process it to provide the Service to you, and to use feedback and content reports to improve the Service.
5. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account). Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel it; data is then deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
- We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or that belong to someone under 16.
6. Disclaimers and liability
- We work hard to keep the Service accurate and available, but it is provided "as is". We do not promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that you will reach a particular level of Korean.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by your device, your network, third-party services (such as Apple, Google or YouTube), or your breach of these Terms.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will announce the new version and its effective date in the app and at https://langle-links.vercel.app/terms at least 7 days in advance, or 30 days in advance for changes that are unfavourable to you. Where required, we will ask you to agree again in the app; if you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.
8. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue. Disputes will be heard by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings there.
